Join us for a relaxed morning exploring drawing techniques with Suffolk artist Louise Craigie. A great opportunity to expand your own artistic practise or try something new.
The focus of the workshop will be influenced by Louise's recent Still Life and Jug series. There will be a variety of vessels and jugs to inspire the session, and you will explore drawing these items with different narratives influenced by other artists or movements, such as Ben Nicolson, Cubism and The St Ives Group.
The workshop focus:
Drawing form with line and colour, through beautiful still life objects.
Exploring shape, form, techniques and approaches of drawing and the use of the pictorial space. Mainly to begin with in pen, pencil and then in colour.
A chance to develop ideas independently with support from Louise Craigie.
An opportunity to view Louise's latest works and artist question time.
All materials will be provided.

"As an Artist I’ve always been about colour and mark making – capturing the beauty from the landscape that surrounds me. At times this is the whole landscape other times close ups…fragments of the bigger picture. It fulfils me to share my passion with other people ... Whilst my work responds initially to the absolute hereness and nowness when I am in my surroundings with my drawing, my paintings from those sketches then evolve again when I return to it at another time, as it takes on the essence of me at that moment. In addition I succumb to the surface itself as a pure form of communication through colours and marks."
