One Year Of Thrive In Felixstowe...

One Year Of Thrive In Felixstowe...

One year ago, at the end of July, Thrive Lifestyle Store And Cafe opened it’s doors; championing UK and East Anglian based artists and makers, serving locally roasted barista coffee and running a host of creative workshops.
“The heart of our business has always been about the people and faces behind the brands and the hands that build the goods. We want to share the power of shopping small as well as create a warm and welcoming space ” Meg, founder of Thrive.
With Mum daughter team, Sarah and Meg at the helm, Thrive invited customers to join them in celebrating their one year anniversary last weekend, with mocktails, and a lucky dip, to say thank you to everyone who has supported them over the past twelve months. And turn out they did! Over the weekend, Thrive welcomed over 300 customers; all wanting to show their support for a store and concept they clearly love:
“ ...it’s opened so many doors for people with all the wonderful workshops as well as a place to enjoy refreshments and some retail therapy!” Maxine, customer.
Meg, Sarah and the team are so thankful to their customers, many of whom have now become friends:
“we were overwhelmed by the turnout. It was wonderful to welcome so many people, both familiar and new faces in store over the weekend” Sarah, Co owner and Meg’s mum.
Alongside the Felixstowe store, Meg, owner, artist and creative mind behind Thrive, also runs a successful seasonal pop up shop at Helmingham Hall. Over the last few years, it has become a popular spot for customers to find unique sustainably produced and locally made gifts and goods. Last Spring, building on the success of her Helmingham store, Meg decided to take a leap of faith and bring the Thrive concept to Felixstowe.
But life can be unpredictable and for Meg and her mum, the last year has brought more challenges than most. Having recently discovered two lesions on her brain, Meg has endured a tumultuous and frightening few months and continues to face uncertainty whilst striving, alongside her small team, family and friends, to keep her dream alive and present in both Felixstowe and Helmingham.
Despite the past year throwing a few curve balls their way, Meg and her team have refused to close the doors. Instead, they’ve harnessed the support they have received and have continued to create an uplifting, positive space for people to shop, create and enjoy great coffee, with customers loving the “beautiful, calm and creative space”:
“Never underestimate the joy it brings people when they visit” Sally, customer.
Customers are a lifeline for small businesses like Thrive:
“We are so grateful to our customers, both regular and new, who have thrown their support behind Meg’s dream. Without people and communities supporting local businesses, they will not survive” Jacqui, supervisor and barista at Thrive
Though the journey has been tricky at times, Thrive is weathering the storm and, thanks to the inspirational positivity of Meg and everyone around her, Thrive is still Thriving!
“This year has shown me community is everything... thank you for being here!” Meg, founder of Thrive.
If you've not visited yet find us at 34 Orwell Road Felixstowe, the team would love to see you!
